What a fantastic few days it’s been! As I said to Laura and Liam when we went out for a wander and a few early evening shots, ‘Great to be shooting my first wedding of the Summer!’. Pinch of salt required of course because everything’s going back to square one (i.e. very chilly weather) any time soon…apparently.
I started the day scouting out a few locations and then heading off to Laura’s parents’ house in Guildford to capture the preparations for the big day ahead. And a very welcoming house it was too. Everything ran to time which is not always the way (!) and after the dress was on, I headed off to the church in Guildford to join Liam and his friends and family while they meeted, greeted, and caught up. The light in that church was something else, with some particularly dramatic rays hitting Laura through the window…always makes my job more interesting/challenging/rewarding in equal measure.
Once the ceremony was complete, we all headed up the A3 and off to The Talbot Inn in Ripley which is a beautiful gem of a location, one which has eluded me until now. The reception was again blessed with gorgeous sunshine and everyone had their first taste of Summer. Dinner and speeches followed and then it was back outside to enjoy the evening sun and a short shoot with the couple before getting on the dance floor.
Such a fun wedding, and a privilege to be a part of it. Congratulations once again to Laura and Liam!
