I just love a good Stowe House Wedding, I couldn’t think of a more appropriate location for Rob and Selina’s English/Italian wedding. The Marble Saloon at Stowe House is quite a sight and played host to the wedding ceremony; a fitting backdrop given that it was built at the height of the return of Italian inspired architecture to British shores. But I digress…
Rob and Selina both prepared for the big day ahead at a couple of hotels just a stone’s throw away from each other in Buckingham. Once the boys were ready, they headed off to get there ahead of the wedding guests. After everyone had taken their seats in the (I’ll say it one more time) astonishing Marble Saloon, the Bridal Party made their entrance. And it was a beautiful ceremony too, with the doors open in front of the couple so they could see all the way down to the huge Corinthian Arch. The reception started with a barrage of confetti on the steps of south portico just before the couple and I disappeared to take in some of the amazing sights on the estate (and to take some pictures!). Check out the gorgeous Palladian Bridge and Temple of Concord and Victory further down the post.
My favourite parts of an Italian wedding? The food and the singing! The singing came a little later after dinner and speeches but I have to mention the food as I’m addicted to Italian food (and more specifically pasta). Parma Ham, Pasta, Lamb, wonderful desserts…it was quite a feast! And to get the evening off with a bang was the first dance which quite literally the couple covered in streamers. It was such a great day and a joy to photograph! Looking forward to another Stowe House Wedding later this year…
Congratulations once again to such a wonderful couple!
