The Red Lion, Shamley Green
Cathy & Darren

February 16, 2018

It’s great to be back shooting weddings in 2018 and this was just the perfect weekend to kick it all off! Blue skies, outdoor reception drinks (for a short while anyway), and the closest of friends and family joining in the celebrations. I could hardly believe it was a February wedding…

Cathy and Darren decided to exchange vows with their four closest friends at Burrows Lea near Shere in Surrey. It’s definitely the smallest wedding ceremony I’ve ever shot, and it was as much a joy to be a part of as any other wedding I can think of. It was at times, fun, funny, poignant, sincere, and heart-warming. Once a few glasses of Prosecco had been dispatched, it was off to Cathy and Darren’s local pub in one of the most pristine examples of a pre-’67 camper van that I’ve ever seen. Once there, they were met with a barrage of congratulations from friends and family who joined in with a few drinks and some great food. The band got the evening off to a flier and it was probably one of the best nights The Red Lion has seen in a while.

Congratulations once again, Mr and Mrs Spence!
