‘Thanks so much!!! They’re fantastic, we’ve just looked through them all a good few times on our honeymoon – they’ve certainly helped with the cov id-19 chaos!’ – Em & Loz
It was the first time I’d shot an Oxleaze Barn wedding and when I arrived there for my morning recce along with Chris Mann (who had very kindly offered to come along as another shooter), I was more than pleasantly surprised. It’s a beautiful place in an equally idyllic part of the country. After we sussed out Oxleaze Barn and St Lawrence Church in Lechlade, Chris and I joined both Emma & Loz at Cats Abbey where both sides of the wedding party got ready for the big day.
After an emotional family moment, it was time to head off to the church. Guests had arrived, friends had caught up, and all were ready for a very special day ahead of them. Once everyone had taken their seats Emma arrived in vintage style accompanied by her parents, and after a little pause to settle themselves it was time to walk up the aisle.
Once the ceremony was complete and the couple were covered with confetti, Emma and Loz headed for Oxleaze Barn with their friends and family following closely behind.
One reception and a few shots of the couple later, it was time for the wedding breakfast! And of course the couple were announced to rapturous applause. Speeches took place throughout the evening and they were as emotional as they were funny. The ‘who knows them best’ game was the perfect way to round off dinner.
The room was cleared down after dinner and speeches in preparation for the First Dance. But this was no ordinary First Dance. It started off as you would imagine, but with a surprise appearance from The New York Brass Band who continued for a couple of sets that evening. I’ve photographed this band before at another wedding, and they definitely know how to start a party. An amazing end to a fantastic day!
Congratulations Emma & Loz, what a great day and an awesome couple!
