Northbrook Park Cassie & Chris

December 30, 2019

‘Thank you so much for capturing our wedding so amazingly, the photos look so beautiful and really take us back- you’ve done an amazing job! They are just the best- I’ve cried already.

Thank you so much again!’

In June 2018, I photographed Charlotte & Dan’s Wedding at Gate Street Barn. It was what you might call memorable. So much energy, so little time to get it all out. However, this rather industrious lot found a way. So when Cassie & Chris, who are great friends of the aforementioned, came to me saying they were there at the wedding and they’d like me to capture their’s at Northbrook Park , I didn’t really have to think twice. A beautiful location very local to me, a work hard/party harder group with devil-may-care tendencies, and the spirit of New Year in the air. This could get messy…

After a super-relaxed start to the day with Cassie and Chris (with David Cliff  yet again doing a fantastic job as second shooter), the guests started to arrive and  soon took their seats for the marriage ceremony. Tears and laughter is always a pretty good pre-cocktail cocktail, and the ceremony provided that by the bucket load.

Once the knot was tied and the poignant (and sometimes hilarious) vows were exchanged, it was time to head outside to be pelted with confetti. Given that this was at the tail-end of the year, it was remarkable that the sunshine was accompanied by unseasonably warm temperatures which really helped the party get started in proper fashion. And of course it would have been rude not to take full advantage of some gorgeous winter light for some shots of the happy couple…

With the cake being cut (props to Chris’ sister Emma for making it!), it was on to dinner and speeches which were kicked off by Cassie. The remaining speeches followed a little later with a Father/Daughter dance following the Father of the Bride speech. So much love in one room, it’s hard not to get a little emotional! And yes, that is a ski with two shot glasses attached.

And so to the party. I’m not going to monologue much about this, I think the pics say it all. They had a blast, and then some.

Congratulations Cassie & Chris, you’re such an awesome couple and the day itself…well it turned out exactly as I thought it would. A-Mazing.
