Anna & Andrew

‘Love the photos, so many bloody brilliant memories! So many tell a different moment of the day, you have helped us relive a fabulous memory!’

I’m not going to try to describe just how much love and emotion surrounded us all on Anna & Andrew’s wedding day, as I would probably fail miserably given how special it all was. Put it this way, the speeches had pretty much everyone including the photographer trying to swallow that lump in the throat. They were that passionate and that eloquently delivered. If ever words were spoken truly from the heart, these would surely have been a definitive example.

As beautiful a day as it was, it wasn’t all plain sailing in the lead up to A&A’s wedding. It didn’t  fall on July the 10th 2021 as planned. In fact, just one day before (Anna’s birthday no less!), the results for a Covid test for a close member of the family came back positive. This, as expected, turned out to be fine and simply a case of having to self-isolate, but plans needed to be re-jigged and suppliers needed to come together to make this as seamless as possible. I’m over the moon that I was still able to photograph their wedding because it was absolutely brilliant with some of the loveliest people I’ve met at a wedding to date.

It all started at A&A’s home where the couple were careful to avoid each other in the morning. Whilst the boys tinkered with the Campervan and attended to a few last minute details, Anna and ‘The Wives’ prepared upstairs along with the girls…

The ceremony took place just a short drive away at the local church, and it was wonderful to see a few locals join in with what was clearly a very special part of the day. After the ceremony, it seemed only fitting that a few drinks were shared in the church garden before the wedding party headed back for Reception drinks, a wonderful supper, and the speeches.

Now, I’ve seen plenty of pools on the length of the speeches before, but usually this is done on the sly (typically that rowdy table at the back of the room). This however was an open event and once all the cash was in the hands of the judges then it was go-time with the stopwatch. It was pure coincidence that the judge (Andrew’s daughter) got the runner’s up prize. In fact all three podium positions were questionable…

Once the speeches were complete and we had all pulled ourselves together, I joined A&A for a short stroll to take in some of the evening light. What an awesome location for this, we couldn’t have asked for more. Next up was the cutting of the cake and dancing by fairy light which was a hell of a way to kick off the party. In fact it was just a fantastic day throughout and it’s why I love doing what I do so much!

Congratulations again Anna & Andrew, and I’m just so pleased to have been able to photograph such a fantastic day!
