‘We wanted to say a huge belated thank you for all your hard work and commitment on your run up to and during our wedding day. From day one you have been professional but easy going and an absolute pleasure to work with. It was also lovely to have you there with us throughout the day, you had a wonderful unassuming but strong presence and we’re so glad we were able to work with you.
On that note, the pictures are AMAZING! They have brought tears to quite a few eyes and we are so so excited to see the full edit. You have captured the day exactly how we had hoped and are thrilled.’
I’ve always wanted to shoot a wedding at Hilles House in the Cotswolds, and after shooting many weddings this year around the country (and beyond), I got my chance! And it really was the perfect spot for Sarah and Paddy to celebrate their wedding, with the weather being in good form so the couple and their guests could take full advantage of the stunning view.
But let’s start at the beginning…
Sarah, her family, and her closest of friends started the day at the absolutely beautiful Dover House in Painswick, just a stone’s throw away from St Mary’s Church where they would later exchange vows. Once hair (by Fordham Hair Design), makeup, and Yoga-with-a view was complete, Sarah slipped into her gorgeous Zuhair Murad dress and then headed off to church with her entourage. The ceremony itself was emotional and fun in equal measure with Reverend Mike injecting plenty of heart and soul into the proceedings.
After the ceremony, the wedding party headed off to Hilles House where they enjoyed bubbles and a view to die for. The marquee, which was beautifully decorated with stunning floral arrangements by The Blooming Bears, then took over as the backdrop for the Wedding Breakfast by caterers extraordinaire, Wesley House. Having a designated carver from each table being responsible for the roast rump of beef, always makes it more fun and/or calamitous at times! After dinner I took the couple away for a short while with Charlotte & Chris from Mr & Mrs Productions, a couple of superb videographers who were a joy to work alongside all day.
And then there was the party, a great first dance that half-way through turned into a free-for-all led by the amazing band Festival Folk, what a party!
Congratulations once again to Sarah & Paddy!
