‘Richard, they’re amazing! We absolutely love them, thank you so much! Really feels like you’ve captured our day perfectly. I didn’t realise quite how much laughter there was in our ceremony…

Thank you again and also to Joy for all of these, looking forward to looking through the rest of them.’ – Sarah & Tom

Oh, it was so good to be back! My first Gate Street Barn wedding of the year, and every time I’m there I witness and get to capture the most brilliant, heartfelt, and memorable weddings. They must put something in the water…

The day started for Sarah at the National Trust owned Emley Farmhouse just a short-ish drive away from Gate Street Barn. Not a bad way to start your day really…it’s just beautiful! There was a lot of joy, anticipation, and laughter that morning and you could tell it was going to be a very special day. Joy Oakley, our second photographer, meanwhile captured the boys getting ready in an equally great atmosphere. And of course, the crazier socks the better…

A little later the guests started to arrive at Gate Street Barn, and if the boys (not least Tom) were nervous, they’ve clearly perfected their poker faces. Before you knew it Sarah, escorted by her brother, were walking down the aisle towards a very, VERY happy Tom. The ceremony was sprinkled with laughter and welling-up in equal measure, and it was just a really nice moment to be caught up in. A confetti bombardment led the way into reception with a glass of fizz and scrumptious canapes to accompany the beautiful surroundings that Gate Street Barn provides.

Speeches kicked off the Wedding Breakfast, with that gorgeous evening light just starting to edge its way into the barn. And once everyone was well fed and watered, the couple (accompanied by two photographers) went for a nice country stroll to take full advantage of that wonderful light and stunning blue skies. When we got back friends and family were busily BBQ-ing marshmallows and enjoying a fantastic evening. Before long it was time to cut the cake (a stunning creation by a relative of theirs I believe), and party! The DJ got the first dance underway and then it was time for the rest of the evening to kick off in style.

Congratulations Sarah and Tom, it was an amazing day!
