‘We’ve now seen the blog! Thank you for telling our story so beautifully.’
Farnham Castle Wedding Photography by Richard Galloway, Surrey
Farnham Castle is a little more than a stone’s throw away from my studio so it was great to be back at this historic and beautiful landmark with an awesome view to top it off. When I first met Ella and Martin over a year before the big day, they were very much looking for a documentary wedding photographer who would tell the story of their wedding day exactly as it happened. Needless to say this is right up my street and I jumped at the chance to capture such an important day for them.
When I arrived at Farnham Castle the weather couldn’t really make up it’s mind (grey skies one minute and blue the next) and so it continued for the rest of the day. Friends and family were busily putting the finishing touches to the dining room, and arranging flowers outside whilst making sure that time didn’t get away from them. A short while later I joined Ella, her mother, and her bridesmaids as they prepared to walk across from the Gatehouse to the main event! The ceremony itself was a mixture of joyful tears and poignant emotion and before we knew it the vows were exchanged, readings were read, rings were placed on fingers and it was time for Ella and Martin to head outside to reception via a barrage of confetti. Towards the end of reception the three of us took the opportunity to head up the castle keep for a few intimate photographs and the weather gods were clearly on our side at just the right time! Dinner and speeches followed, and then a few after dinner drinks at the bar too just to get that second wind in time for the party.
It was a great day to be a part of and congratulations to Ella and Martin!
