Documentary Wedding Photography – Silchester House
Wow, what a day! Summer suddenly feels like it’s here to stay (for a bit at least), and doesn’t it just help make the day that five percent more special than it already was!? After what has been ‘mixed’ weather lately, regularly surfing the weather forecast websites has become an obsessive ritual for wedding photographers across the land…and Dan so I’ve heard.
Veronica and Dan exchanged vows at a gorgeous old church just minutes away from where the happy couple were to hold their wedding reception. But the day all started for Veronica, her friends and family, in an idyllic cottage a stone’s throw from the church. It was an absolute pleasure to candidly photograph the start of the day as it unfurled, with the sun streaming in through the window where Veronica got ready, and with smiles and laughter everywhere I went. This was going to be a fun day…
Veronica arrived at St Mary’s Church in Sulhhamstead & Ufton Nervet with her father, and before you knew it, it was on with the show! It was a beautiful ceremony with friends and family taking part in readings and some awesome singing towards the end. Once the register was signed, it was time to get outside in that wonderful sun to be pelted with confetti. If the photographer doesn’t come away looking like he’s been camped out in a rose bush then he’s not close enough! 🙂
Silchester House was the next destination and it was to play host to reception drinks, dinner, speeches and of course…the party. This was the obvious choice for Dan and Veronica as it’s clearly a very special location, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s just minutes away from where they live. The evening sun was still around to greet the wedding party, once dinner and speeches had concluded and there’s nothing like a bit of croquet to round things off before the party. And what a party. Great music, great dancing, great vibes…it was amazing to be a part of it all.
Congratulations Veronica and Dan, it was a very special day!
