‘Such wonderful photos! We are of course sitting here looking at them over and over and over again :)Â So happy about this! Thank you!’
There’s nothing quite like shooting a destination wedding and it was the first time I’ve shot one in Sweden! Adam and Anna tied the knot (officially!) at the registry office in the beautiful University Town of Uppsala, just an hour north of Stockholm with a small number of family members joining them. They then headed off together for a quick change and then to meet their guests at Uppsala Castle for the main event. I had been warned in advance that the weather at this time of year was notoriously unpredictable, and it didn’t disappoint. What had been a beautiful clear morning abruptly turned into drizzle, so we all headed down through the beautiful Botanical Gardens and on to The Orangery where the humanist ceremony took place. It was a wonderful moment of the day…a friend of their’s led the proceedings in traditional dress, the flowers were arranged by close personal friends, and yet another friend sang a tear-jerking rendition of Waltzing Matilda due to the Australian ties in their families.
Once the ceremony had finished, the partying began with reception drinks overlooking the Botanical Gardens, and continued with Venison for the Wedding Breakfast. Quiz Master Syd was in control of the mic (or not) during dinner in what turned out to be one of funniest moments of the day. The party went on until the wee small hours with Kotta in control of what turned out to be an eclectic mix that kept everyone on their toes. I’ve never seen a set that’s included House of Pain, various trance & house tracks, Rage Against The Machine, and ending with Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing…but it was perfection, absolute perfection!
Congratulations once again to Anna & Adam!
